Exciting Changes at Camp Calvary: What You Need to Know for Summer 2025

8am – 5pm
Bus pickup will be at 7:30am and 5:30pm at the Albertsons' on Congress and Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette.

We are thrilled to announce some major updates at Camp Calvary for the upcoming summer. With our new building and a shift in location, we are starting fresh and making several important changes to improve the camp experience for both campers and staff.

We understand that these changes may cause some inconvenience, but they are necessary for us to provide a high-quality, balanced experience for everyone involved. We are committed to making your campers’ time with us as enjoyable and enriching as possible, and we truly appreciate your understanding and support.

Key Changes for Summer 2025

Field Trips and Activities
This summer, we plan to offer a range of exciting off-site trips and activities for our campers, with each camper expected to go on 5-7 bussed outings per week. Below is the tentative schedule:

  • Broussard Park (4 visits) – excluding two oldest groups
  • Moncus Park (4 visits) – excluding two oldest groups
  • Palmetto (2 visits)
  • Kart Ranch (2 visits) – rotation of activities with groups
  • Parc de Oaks (4 visits)
  • Movie Theater (Lite Center) (8 visits)
  • Bible Lessons at Lite Center (8 visits)
  • Zoo (2 visits)
  • Bowling (4 visits)
  • Pickleball (4 visits)
  • Painting Class at ACA (8 visits)
  • Cajun Fast Track (2 visits)
  • Swimming (8 visits, weather permitting)
  • Lakeview Campground (Oldest groups)
  • Professional Entertainment or Treats On-Site (8 visits)

Camp Dates and Hours
Camp will be open for eight weeks, from May 26 through July 26, with the exception of the week of July 4.

  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (bus pickup is 7:30am and 5:30pm at Albertsons’ on Congress and Ambassador)
  • Registration Fee: $100
  • Weekly Fee: $185 (Camper must bring their own lunch and snack. This fee increase allows us to improve staff pay, bring in more cleaning support, and offer better field trips.)
  • Water will be provided throughout the day.

Camp Size and Staff Changes
To maintain a healthy work-life balance and ensure a high-quality experience, we are reducing our camper capacity to 300 per day (down from around 400 in previous years). We believe this smaller size will allow us to focus on individualized attention and ensure that staff are energized and able to provide the best care for your children.

Age Requirements
We will continue to serve campers ages 5-14. However, to enroll, campers must be at least 5 years old and have attended kindergarten.

Important Changes to Note

  • No More Water Slides: After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue water slides. The frequent changes of clothes for younger campers proved to be too much for both campers and staff.
  • No Girard Park: Instead of renting Girard Park, we will use those funds to fund additional field trips based on camper feedback.
  • Vacation Time: We allow two weeks of vacation at no charge for each camper. Vacation requests must be submitted by May 1, and no exceptions will be made for last-minute changes or illnesses.
  • Behavioral Expectations: For the safety and well-being of all campers, we will prioritize maturity and independence when considering campers for enrollment. Those who struggle to meet these requirements may be referred to a more appropriate program.

New Building & Facilities
We are excited about our new building and will be holding open houses for you to tour the facility. In the meantime, feel free to stop by and take a look through the windows or explore the location.

Address is 217 Garber Rd., Broussard, La 70518

We will be offering a pickup  and drop off location at Albertson’s on Congress and Ambassador Caffery at 7:30am and  5:30pm.

Registration & Payment Information

  • Adobe paperwork: Please submit all required paperwork within 10 business days of registration.
  • Vacation Form: You can submit your vacation dates anytime before May 1 via our website.
  • Payment Options: Please indicate whether you plan to pay weekly or in full. Full payment is due by May 1. We will begin processing weekly payments starting in December.

We know these changes may be significant, but they are designed to ensure we can continue providing a safe, fun, and enriching experience for every camper while taking care of our wonderful staff. Thank you for your continued support—we are excited for a fantastic summer together at Camp Calvary!
